The History of the Jack Herer Cannabis Sativa Strain
“Jack” was created in 1990 as an ode to Cannabis activist Jack Herer by Sensi seeds in the Netherlands and immediately proved to be a top producing plant. Large buds with bright red hairs created quite the showcase bud and connoisseurs from around the world began growing the strain and winning awards.
This potent bud was created from a blend of Northern Lights, Haze and Shiva Skunk – which gives this flower its unique effects. Uplifting and mood enhancing – mixed with a suitable amount of pain relief separate this Sativa from it counterparts.
When looking at the terpene profile we see that Jack contains Myrcene, which is responsible for the the analgesic effect comparable to aspirin like drugs. We also see levels of alpha-pinene and Beta-Caryophyllene. Alpha- Pinene gives jack its overwhelming pine nose, increases alertness and produces a brochodilatory effect opening airways. Beta-Caryophyllene ads a spiciness to the overall flavor and smell. All three of the primary terpenes in Jack Herer provide a level of anti-inflammatory tendencies which make this a very powerful pain relieving plant.
