As you know, NUG has been leading the way for change through the Oakland Equity Program. We’re happy to report progress is on the incline for the premier initiative looking to bridge the gap in cannabis licensing, for those affected by prior pot prohibition. So with the program moving full steam ahead, where exactly are we now? One step closer to operating.
What’s the latest?
First thing’s first, it all starts with growth. And roots are about to make home at NUG’s Oakland Equity Partners’ group of greenhouses. The facilities are now set to open in October of this year (2019). Meaning, they’ll be fully operational by November. Even better, first crops are forecasted for harvesting in early 2020.
Meanwhile, during the construction of the new spaces, NUG’s been making headway working with our equity partners. Collaborating to develop and launch their soon-to-be brands.
“We’re working on co-branding opportunities, where the equity partners can take a product produced by NUG and package and distribute it so they can at least have a revenue stream,” reported NUG CEO John Oram.
Partners at work
While momentum builds behind the scenes, our current equity partners are hard at work, too. Chances are you might have already seen, or smoked the fruits of their labor.
NUG equity partner Cannabis on Fire (COF) is already catching sales, actively. The COF branded flower products, are being distributed at licensed dispensaries across the bay area. Check out their fire on the web, where delivery is also an option.
What’s next?
As progress continues, NUG is gearing up for the excitement to come. Once the grounds are complete, we’ll be celebrating the official greenhouse opening with a ceremonious ribbon cutting event.
Stay tuned for all the latest news in this breakthrough program, and how NUG continues pushing for positive change in the cannabis industry, and Oakland area community, alike.
