NUG Pop Hangover Recipe: The Prickly Burro

Cinco de Mayo is here… and copious amounts of alcohol will be consumed whilst celebrating this commonly misunderstood holiday. Cinco de Mayo commemorates the Mexican military victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Drinking to excess can excuse your hangover on May 6th, but it won’t change the date of Mexican Independence Day (September 16, 1810).

However you choose to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, and for whatever reason you celebrate… I want to help flatten the hangover curve on May 6th. Here is a recipe for a refreshing, “NUG Pop” infused-hangover-remedy, that is designed to commemorate Cinco de Mayo, and make May 6th hangover-free.

“The Prickly Burro”
  • 4 oz Ginger Ale
  • 1 Prickly Pear NUG Pop (10mg THC+10mg CBD)
  • ½ oz Mexican Lime Juice (fresh squeezed)
  • ½-1 oz agave nectar (optional, to sweeten as needed)

Pour over ice, stir, and garnish with lime wedge!

Enjoy, refresh, and repeat as desired.

The “Prickly Burro” is based on a Moscow Mule, but with a cannabis infused-Mexican twist. Ginger ale is carbonated and refreshing, soothes the stomach, alleviates indigestion and nausea.  Key limes are also called Mexican limes, which were brought to the Florida Keys, and then Mexico by Spanish conquistadors.  Prickly Pear (or “tuna” of the opuntia cactus) is seen on the Mexican coat of arms, and is a staple in Mexican cuisine and culture. The drink is designed to be light and refreshing, but it can be easily sweetened with Agave, which is predominantly grown in Mexico, and is a low glycemic sweetening option. Oh yeah, there’s also 10mg THC+10mg CBD in each drink. The increased bioavailability of nanoencapsulated cannabinoids allow for an optimal delivery of the “entourage effect”, and a quick recovery from your hangover.
